K-DOS™
Legacy command-line operating system built on KOS. A reliable terminal environment with essential shell commands, RAM-based filesystem and process management. No longer updated — succeeded by HavenDOS. Last stable build still downloadable.
Status
K-DOS is no longer actively developed. HavenDOS is its spiritual successor and the current main release. The last stable K-DOS build remains available to download.
Technical Architecture
K-DOS was a UNIX-like command-line OS built on top of the KOS kernel, running entirely from RAM with a ~8MB footprint. All core commands were built into the shell binary.
Historical Commands
- ls, cd, mkdir, rmdir — filesystem navigation
- cat, cp, mv — file read, copy and move
- ps, kill — process listing and termination
- help, clear, reboot, shutdown — system commands
